Amy Johnson PhD, RN is a faculty member at the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She teaches population health nursing courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level.  Her clinical work revolves around correctional health care. She continues to work as an RN in a county jail and has also been part of an initiative at the jail to provide the COVID vaccine to both officers and justice-involved individuals.  In 2020, she opened an RN-led clinic at a correctional transition site to help improve the health and well-being of the residents by providing health assessments, education, and empowerment to manage their own health and to connect them to community-based providers.
