Samir Kamat is a second year medical student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and graduate of Rutgers University. Mr. Kamat has interned at the Drug Policy Alliance in New Jersey, the White House Office of American Innovation, and New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC). At NJRC he assists on a variety of initiatives to address the health care needs of recently incarcerated individuals returning to the community. He has secured several research fellowships in medical school in support of his research specifically around hepatitis C and reentry.
