Speaker Bio
Bradli Jo Asplund is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, specializing in the treatment of chronic care conditions, mental illness, and correctional medicine. She obtained her BSN on a Presidential Scholarship for Academics and immediately jumped into correctional nursing upon graduation. She served the correctional population at the Salt Lake County Jail for ten years, demonstrating excellence, with attention to detail and compassion for the incarcerated population who come from every walk of life. She has a decorated history as a correctional nurse, receiving various awards, including the honor of Salt Lake County Civilian of the Year in 2019. This recognition was for her dedication to correctional nursing and reformation of the electronic medical record system as well as updated training for the correctional nursing staff.

Ms. Asplund continued her education at South University and received her MSN, specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) studies. She graduated with Honors, Cum Laude and remains a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Once certified as an FNP, Ms. Asplund partnered with the Salt Lake County Jail Medical Director Todd Wilcox MD to revamp the Chronic Care Clinic. This conception has been wildly successful. Ms. Asplund has proven it is possible, and necessary, for the system to discard the old consensus that merely stabilizing incarcerated individuals is sufficient correctional health care. In addition to correctional medicine, Ms. Asplund has a thriving clientele at a Family Practice and Primary Care clinic in South Jordan, Utah.
