This study analyzed incarcerated peer-volunteer caregivers who provide essential support to their dying peers. Participants' narratives highlighted three key motivational factors: producing goodwill, advocating for atonement, and emerging from the shadows. The findings reflect the significant bonds formed between the caregivers and the dying individuals.
