Description

The most common reason for incarceration is related to minor drug offenses, mostly opioids. Increasingly, correctional facilities are providing access to medications for opioid use disorder through medication-assisted treatment programs, but many fall short of establishing a full opioid treatment program due to the many regulatory challenges. This presentation will discuss the DEA's regulatory framework for OTP programs in corrections and the compliance indicators for passing a DEA audit.
