Description
Supporting patients while they work to change dangerous and risky behaviors requires an understanding of how the environment and the person's internal experiences influence their behaviors. The speaker will move beyond behavior theory to theories of motivation and change that can help clinicians to support transformation in others by appreciating the ambivalence and struggle within the individual and working with ambivalence to set the stage for contemplating change.
