The evidence supports the use of medications for opioid use disorder as the gold standard for opioid use disorder treatment and overdose prevention. Diversion of medications is a main reason people are reluctant to increase access to MOUD, yet opioid treatment programs have policies and procedures to address diversion concerns. Learn organizational and clinical approaches to addressing diversion and maintaining safety while continuing to provide access to medications.
