Description

Hepatitis A is a vaccine-preventable contagious liver infection, typically transmitted person-to-person through the fecal-oral route or through unsanitary conditions such as the consumption of contaminated food or water. The CDC has not yet established guidelines on hepatitis A vaccination for the incarcerated population. This project aims to investigate the connection between incarceration and susceptibility to hepatitis A infection and highlight the need for new vaccine recommendations.
