The opioid crisis has placed heavy focus on treatment of individuals with opioid use disorder, causing alcohol use disorder to sometimes get overlooked. Since the COVID pandemic, alcohol use disorder has increased nationwide and is now affecting a more diverse group of individuals. This presentation explores the research on current alcohol use trends and how to apply research to screening and treatment of individuals in custody.
