Description
This presentation will review the factors that can increase or decrease a person's risk for suicide while incarcerated. Traditional methods of restricting clothing, reading materials, visits, and treatment groups likely result in underreporting of suicidal ideation. New, more humane methods that promote safety while engaging the individual in treatment will be presented. Presenters will share case studies and discuss the elements of a comprehensive suicide prevention program.
