Description
This presentation will educate correctional health care professionals on the significant impact that nursery programs within the correctional setting have on the maternal-child bond and reduction of recidivism. Housing incarcerated individuals along with their infants brings a unique set of challenges that staff must understand to provide a safe and secure environment for all. The Indiana Department of Correction will discuss successes and challenges specific to their program, the Officer Breann Leath Maternal Child Health Unit.
