448c Correctional Medical Authority: A Model for Collaborative Quality Improvement*
Description

The Correctional Medical Authority (CMA) provides monitoring and oversight for institutions in the Florida Department of Corrections through triennial surveys of medical, mental health, and dental services, as well as monitoring and evaluation of corrective action plans. The CMA believes that utilizing a collaborative approach to engage with stakeholders enhances auditing success. Participants will learn considerations for implementing a collaborative approach to internal quality management programs.

  • Analyze how internal/external audits and CQI programs reflect the core components of the collaborative model
  • Assess the feasibility of incorporating the collaborative model into quality management programs
