Correctional nursing is unique in that nurses are involved in almost all parts of the medical care process. This presentation will review the legal risks that correctional nurses are commonly exposed to. We will review the legal risks associated with various areas of correctional nursing, address common areas of nursing malpractice claims, and discuss ways in which correctional nurses can mitigate their legal risks.
