Description
GLP-1 receptor agonists are transforming treatment of diabetes and obesity, but their use in correctional settings remains limited. This session reviews the clinical evidence for GLP-1s, their potential role in other conditions like substance use disorders, and challenges in utilizing them in jails and prisons. Attendees will gain insight into cost, access, and medical necessity considerations, as well as strategies for addresses the nuances of GLP-1 use.
