469 Antibiotic Stewardship in Correctional Dentistry: Insights from a KAP Study
Description
Dentists are among the highest antibiotic prescribers in U.S. outpatient settings. With antibiotic overuse and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) emerging as major public health threats, the impact in correctional health is multifold. This study examines the Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) of dentists in correctional facilities with respect to antibiotic use for dental concerns. The findings will inform the creation of guidelines to enhance antibiotic stewardship in dental care within the correctional health care system.
