Description
This session will help participants understand the nutritional underpinnings of mental and physical health in carceral settings, and explore ways in which food and nutrition can help mitigate challenges with mental health, substance use, and diet-related disease. Speakers will discuss several aspects of carceral nutrition and the impact that diets have on other salient health challenges. Learn about food and trauma, the intersection of ultraprocessed food and the criminal legal system, and more.
