This workshop addresses practical strategies for responding to labor symptoms and other pregnancy and postpartum emergencies in custody. The presentation will discuss the CDC's "urgent maternal warning signs," when to transport off-site, what to do if someone starts delivering on-site, and underrecognized postpartum medical and mental health needs. Presenters will also provide an overview of group-based education, doulas, and lactation support.

• Identify postpartum medical and mental health needs that arise in custody
• Summarize key benefits and common challenges of implementing prison and jail-based programs for pregnant and postpartum patients
