Detained youth experience disproportionately high rates of hepatitis B and C, yet vaccination coverage at intake often remains low. This session examines current research on infectious disease burden among youth in custody and highlights the role detention-based screening and vaccination programs can play in strengthening prevention and improving long-term health outcomes.
