438 Beyond the Medical Record: Digital Evidence, Defensibility, and Litigation Risk
Description

In correctional health care litigation, the patient chart is no longer the only record under scrutiny. Audio and video recordings, surveillance footage, grievances, emails, and text messages increasingly shape how courts evaluate knowledge, response, and credibility in civil rights and malpractice cases. This session explores how non-medical-record evidence is used in litigation and offers practical strategies for strengthening documentation, communication, and interdisciplinary practices to reduce risk and improve defensibility.
