Dr. Annabelle Belcher is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Division of Addiction, Research and Treatment at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She obtained her PhD in Neurobiology and Behavior at the University of California, Irvine, and followed that with post-doctoral fellowships with the MacArthur Law and Neuroscience Project and at the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Her current research foci include the development of novel behavioral and pharmacological approaches to increase adherence and retention in evidence-based medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) treatment, and evaluation of telemedicine-mediated MOUD, with particular interest in rural carceral settings.
