Mr. Brandon Halleck is a Correctional Epidemiologist with the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH). He has been with the IDOH for almost 8 years, and spent the first 7 years in several positions within the HIV/STI/viral hepatitis division. During COVID he was brought in to serve as a correctional liaison for the IDOH COVID command center based on previous experience working with correctional facilities on HIV and STIs. During his time as the COVID correctional liaison, he helped identify a lack of public health presence in correctional settings in Indiana. He now works to address public health need within correctional settings, with the goal of addressing correctional health as community health.
