Dr. Shannon Johnson is an Assistant Professor of social work at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs College of Public Service – and the Program Director of the Master of Social Work program. Her research focuses on the roles of meaning making and spirituality in healing after adverse experiences, including but not limited to traumatic loss. Dr. Johnson has a particular interest in intervention research and the advancement of evidence-based treatments for survivors of psychological traumas. She is also a social work educator, with recent coursework including research methods, social welfare policy, and trauma and violence.
