Ms. Cara Wolf is an assistant professor for the University of Utah College of Nursing and serves as a nurse practitioner for Juvenile Justice Youth Services in Salt Lake City, Utah. She began her nursing career as a medical/surgical float nurse for the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2017, she returned to school to earn her Doctorate of Nursing Practice, with a focus on family practice. She received her advanced degree in 2020, with her doctoral project: Improving the Provision of Health Care for LGBTQIA+ Patients. Upon graduating, she practiced in an urgent care setting. In 2021, Ms. Wolf began her career at the University of Utah College of Nursing in the Faculty Practice Division, serving as a nurse practitioner for the Juvenile Justice Youth Services contract. Within this role, she provides health care to incarcerated youth in the state of Utah. She has a particular interest in sexually transmitted infection screening and treatment, human trafficking, and LGBTQ+ health care. In 2022, she joined the University of Utah as an assistant professor, where she splits her time between teaching doctoral students, and practicing in a local detention center.
