Captain Scott Zavsza is a graduate of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy. He has operational oversight of medical services for the Detention Services Division (DSD). He holds roles on various committees including the Southern Nevada Opiate Task Force. In cooperation with the Southern Nevada Health District and the State of Nevada Adult Mental Health Services, Capt. Zavsza has integrated programs at DSD to create pathways for incarcerated individuals with opiate addiction to receive medication that prevents relapse. Captain Zavsza has also represented LVMPD at the State of Nevada Legislative Committee on Mental Health.
