Speaker Bio
Ms. Aisha Oshilaja is a third-year dental student at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Ms. Oshilaja graduated summa cum laude with a degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Through her studies of chemistry and psychology, she has formed an interest in working with people to form creative solutions to problems. After developing an interest in dentistry at a young age and later a passion for social equity, Ms. Oshilaja hopes to use her problem-solving lens to tackle topics such as oral health disparities and access to quality dental care. During her gap semester, she developed and implemented Dental Bridges, the first dental public health volunteer program connecting undergraduate students to Penn Dental School. Working to build new strategies that helped families utilize the free dental clinic, Ms. Oshilaja and her team quickly shifted their work to the virtual space when interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, she serves as the co-president for the student chapter of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and as a coder for the health inequity lab.
