Ms. Laura Bain received her PhD in the Food, Nutrition, Dietetics, and Health Department from Kansas State University in 2023. Laura's doctoral research analyzed prison menus and surveyed corrections dietitians to assess the state of corrections menus. Her industry experience includes food and clinical nutrition services in corrections and school nutrition. She worked in the Georgia and Utah prison systems as part of the medical and food service management teams providing nutrition support and over 150,000 daily meals. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Utah. Currently, she works on health-related issues as a Legislative Fellow on the legislative team in the US Senate.
