Mark Libowitz is an MD/PhD candidate at the University of Utah, where he has been collaborating with Dr. Todd Wilcox at the Salt Lake County Jail for over three years as a medical student. His PhD research focuses on neurophysiological biomarkers for depression within the University of Utah's Neuroscience and Neurosurgery department. His publications encompass topics such as the reduction of recidivism among individuals with opioid use disorder, antipsychotic treatment options, functional imaging for Alzheimer's disease, and mental health outcomes related to early-life stress. He holds a B.S. in Neuroscience and a B.S. in Biology from UCLA.
