Ms. Olivia Bruno and her co-presenter Mr. Chris Barksdale are medical students at the Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, Tennessee, who are passionate about working with and advocating for individuals who are historically medically underserved and underrepresented. Ms. Bruno has a BS in biology and an MBA from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and is currently pursuing an MD and an MPH. Mr. Barksdale received his BA in psychology from the University of Memphis and is currently working toward his MD. Before medical school he worked as a clinical research coordinator before medical school, managing Phase 2 and 3 FDA trials for movement disorders. Ms. Bruno and Mr. Barksdale are adamant advocates for alternative sentencing programs that promote holistic rehabilitation and improving health care practices in fields related to psychiatry and substance use.
