Dr. John Tomarchio is a board-certified addiction medicine specialist with over 10 years of experience working and teaching in the field of correctional medicine. He is also board-certified in environmental and occupational medicine. Dr. Tomarchio is an accomplished professor and has served on the faculty of the University of South Carolina Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. His correctional medicine experience includes service in state prison systems, county jail detention centers, and juvenile centers, including service as the medical director for the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Dr. Tomarchio currently serves as an assistant chief medical officer for VitalCore Health Strategies including a role as corporate addiction medicine specialist. He coordinates development of medication-assisted therapy programs in correctional facilities around the country.
