Ms. Alison Traynor is suicide prevention coordinator and therapist at the North Dakota Youth Correctional Center, cofounder of the North Dakota Suicide Prevention Coalition, and is North Dakota's first anti-trafficking therapist at Youthworks, where she works part time to serve youth and families that are impacted by sexual exploitation and human trafficking. For the last 15 years Ms. Traynor provided crisis mental health services, most often responding to suicide crises in rural and Tribal communities. During this time, she developed expertise in responding to suicide- and intimate-partner-violence-related crises. Ms. Traynor worked as North Dakota's suicide prevention director from 2015 to 2021, during which time she received a master's in public health and clinical social work. Ms. Traynor has also served as North Dakota's National Association of Social Workers? president since 2021. She is passionate about providing effective and culturally responsive care to people in their darkest hours.
