LCDR Enid Vélez is an epidemiologist at the Federal Bureau of Prisons and a commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Service. She specializes in data integration to enhance communicable and chronic disease prevention, health care utilization, and surveillance, focusing on vulnerable populations. By identifying risk factors, disparities, and trends, she assists targeted interventions to address complex challenges and improve health outcomes. Her most recent publication contributions are focused on coronary artery disease, diabetes, and obesity. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from Rutgers University with a dual concentration in epidemiology and environmental and occupational health; and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health degree.
