Ms. Shamad Jackson is a Certified Mental Health Peer Specialist currently working in adult forensic services at The Harris Center for Mental Health & IDD, where she has served for over two years. She began her career in mental health in 2016 as a Psychiatric Technician at the Saint Louis Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center in St. Louis, Missouri. In that role, she facilitated groups, assisted clients with active daily living skills, counseled and mentored them on substance use and life choices, and collaborated with medical and clinical professionals to help develop and implement effective treatment plans. Ms. Jackson is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Houston–Downtown.
