Ms. April Roberts has dedicated more than 20 years to serving Greenville County, South Carolina. She began her health care career as a paramedic before transitioning into nursing and later joined the Greenville County Detention Center, the largest jail in South Carolina, where she has served in both clinical and leadership roles. For the past nine years, she has been the Health Services Administrator, overseeing health care operations and initiatives to improve care for incarcerated individuals. Her experience includes emergency medicine, correctional health care, and health care administration. She played a key role in developing and implementing the detention center's medication-assisted treatment program, including buprenorphine protocols that improved patient outcomes and reduced avoidable emergency department utilization.
