Dr. Temitope Oyelakin is a nurse manager for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice–University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She oversees operations and provides clinical leadership for a 40-bed post-acute infirmary unit and a 26-bed medical-surgical unit. She also serves as interim manager for a 26-bed oncology unit. Dr. Oyelakin was a member of the inaugural class of the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing online correctional nursing certificate program. She earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing and both a Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing.
