Ms. Tanya Mera serves as Deputy Director of Jail Health Services and Director of Behavioral Health and Reentry Services for Jail Health, a program of the San Francisco Department of Public Health. She oversees behavioral health, reentry, diversion, and care coordination services for individuals incarcerated in the San Francisco County Jail system. She led the successful implementation of San Francisco's Medicaid 1115 Reentry Waiver, now in its 18th month of operation, and generated over $10 million in Medicaid reimbursement in the first year. Ms. Mera earned a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Cornell University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
