Ms. Tanya Mera serves as Deputy Director of Jail Health Services and Director of Behavioral Health and Reentry Services for Jail Health, a program of the San Francisco Department of Public Health. She oversees behavioral health, reentry, diversion, and care coordination services for individuals incarcerated in the San Francisco County Jail system. Ms. Mera earned a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Cornell University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Austin. A recognized expert at the intersection of behavioral health and the criminal legal system, she has worked within the San Francisco jail system since 2004 and is committed to advancing evidence-based, person-centered care for justice-involved populations.
