Ms. Deborah Nichols serves as Deputy Director of the Division of HIV, STI, and Viral Hepatitis at the Indiana Department of Health. Previously, she worked as an epidemiologist with the Indiana Department of Correction. She holds a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Epidemiology and a Master of Science degree in Earth Science. Her experience spans public health, epidemiology, and disease prevention in both domestic and international settings. Ms. Nichols is a founding member of the Indiana Peer Education Program, which trains incarcerated individuals to serve as public health educators. Her work focuses on health equity, infectious disease prevention, and improving health outcomes for justice-involved populations.
