Ms. Kristie Puckett is chief of staff at Second Chance Federation. A civil rights advocate, policy strategist, and abolitionist, she draws on her lived experience with poverty, addiction, domestic violence, and incarceration to advance criminal legal reform and reproductive justice. Ms. Puckett co-founded KEP² (Squared), serves as the first directly impacted consultant with the Center for Effective Public Policy, and co-leads the National Resource Center for Justice-Involved Women. Previously, she served as deputy director of engagement for the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina, where she helped advance the Dignity for Women Who Are Incarcerated Act, legislation addressing the treatment of pregnant individuals in custody. Ms. Puckett advises national research initiatives on policing, pretrial justice, political violence, and perinatal incarceration. She also co-hosts The Activist and the Expat podcast and is the author of an upcoming book on reproductive justice.
