Dr. Pamela Valera is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban-Global Public Health at Rutgers University and serves as concentration lead for the MPH/MSW dual-degree program. Her research focuses on health inequities affecting marginalized populations, including individuals involved in the criminal legal system, people living with HIV, and people who use drugs. Dr. Valera co-founded the Community Health Justice Lab, which works to address disparities in health promotion and access to care among underserved populations. Her work integrates public health research, community engagement, and health equity advocacy.
