Resources are limited in correctional facilities and must be used efficiently. This study provides evidence supporting safe discontinuation of initial quarantine upon receipt of a negative test result (day 7 after intake test). This allows most residents to be released from initial quarantine on days 10-12, thus freeing up much-needed single-celled space in the initial quarantine unit or bed space dedicated to housing new intakes.
