Developed by the NCCHC Nurse Advisory Council, the seminar will introduce key concepts and skills necessary to become successful nurse managers. Topics include: leadership and management; human resources skills, including strategies for effective recruitment and  retention, performance enhancement, and staff development; key organizational elements of the intake process, the initial health  assessment, nurse sick call, chronic disease management, medication management, infirmary care, ancillary services, and emergency care; and implementation, oversight, and monitoring of these critical service areas. If you are a novice correctional nurse manager or a staff  nurse who is looking for career progression, this seminar will give you practical tools you can use now and in the future.
