Dr. Susan Rashid is a graduate of the University Of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She obtained her medical degree from the West Virginia School Of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Her residency was at Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami, Florida where she completed her training in Family Medicine and provided health care services to multiple underserved populations. She is board certified in family medicine and board eligible in correctional medicine. Dr. Rashid is a member of the American Academy Of Family Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, and the Florida Medical Association . She is currently a Correctional Medicine Fellow at the Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College Of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Florida that is in partnership with Centurion Health. The Correctional Medicine Fellowship program is one of a kind and is currently the only Correctional Medicine Fellowship Program in the United States. She is the original creator and the host of the Correctional Medicine Journal Club where weekly discussions are held virtually regarding correctional health care. She is receiving her Master's In Public Health during her fellowship training experience and has recently joined the Global Health Fellowship with International Health Initiatives, Inc. in South Florida as the Tropical Medicine Advocacy Project Director, a scholarly initiative designed to advocate for the health and wellbeing of underserved and vulnerable populations throughout the world. Dr. Rashid is also the original creator and host for the podcast show Secrets Of Survival (S.O.S.) that has achieved national and international popularity with her discussions of the culture of modern health care and public health in the 21st century. Dr. Rashid has had the privilege and the honor to be the recipient of the prestigious President's Student Leadership And Service Award from the University Of Minnesota-Twin Cities for her devoted service, commitment, and innovative leadership in her mission to support health promotion and disease prevention for underserved populations from all walks of life.
