Plenary Session Lung Cancer: Screening and Treatment*
Description

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the incarcerated population, and most patients present at an advanced stage. Topics of this talk include screening to identify tumors earlier, when they are more treatable; cost-effective use of laboratory diagnostic testing; the principles of lung cancer therapy, including new advances in therapy; and identification of molecular subsets of lung cancer for consideration of targeted therapy.

  • Describe the importance of molecular profiling in determining optimal therapy for lung cancer
  • State the factors that determine optimal treatment for lung cancer
