107 Classifying Your Diabetes Patient: Beyond Type 1 and 2
Description
This talk will review the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus and the genetic syndromes. Topics will include differentiation of latent autoimmune diabetes of adulthood (LADA); early type-2 diabetes, including trends in adolescent prevalence; and monogenic diabetes as well as differences in treatment of the various types.

- Describe the signs that a patient may not have classic type 1 or 2 diabetes
- Discuss the trends in atypical diabetes focusing on monogenic and adolescent type 2
