Description
Jail-based approaches to treatment for substance use disorder can be controversial. On one side are those who promote lifelong pharmacologic interventions mandated through the judicial system. On the other are those opposed to providing any controlled substances in corrections. This presentation will review a middle-ground, evidence-based set of interventions used in the jail that was first in the United States to offer buprenorphine injection as a treatment modality.
