155 Developing a Comprehensive Response to the Opioid Crisis Through Corrections-Based MAT*
Description
In 2021, Massachusetts reported 2,290 opioid-related deaths, 185 more than in 2020. The Essex County Sheriff's Department believes that corrections must be an active participant in the response. The speakers, practitioners with experience in medication-assisted treatment, will provide a concise description and framework for an effective jail-based opioid treatment program. Topics will include the steps toward conceptualization, research to determine a best practice model, and implementation of a holistic MAT program.
