This poster describes Colorado's Jail Based Behavioral Health Services program. Launched in 2011, JBBS is a legislatively mandated program with allocated annual funding. JBBS provides funding for mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment, presentence services, competency enhancement, medication-assisted treatment, and reentry and transition services. JBBS contracts with sheriff's departments to develop behavioral health treatment programs and to hire qualified professionals to provide treatment in jail settings.
