Deputy James Misiorowski has been with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office since October 2020. He began his career as a Deputy Sheriff working in the county's Pre-Trial Detention Facility. He has worked a variety of assignments, ranging from Housing, to Reception & Booking, and most recently psychiatric housing. He is currently assigned to the jail's Therapeutic Inmate Management Unit (TIMU). The purpose of the TIMU is to monitor and manage the jail's most vulnerable population of inmates, including those with severe and persistent mental illness. The TIMU works hand-in-hand with a wide range of personnel to collaboratively treat mentally ill inmates, while reducing recidivism and improving morale of both inmates and staff alike.
