The U.S. workforce is becoming more diverse, with age being one of the drivers of this shift. At present, four generations are in the workforce, bringing both assets and challenges to organizations. To actualize the benefits and mitigate the challenges, leaders must understand what motivates each group. Failure to do so can result in a less engaged workforce and an increase in turnover, as well as the loss of valuable organizational experience.
