Mrs. Susan Laffan has been a presenter at NCCHC conferences for more than 25 years. She has worked as a nurse in emergency, critical care, and correctional specialties for over 35 years. Mrs. Laffan has had more than 40 articles published and authored a chapter in the Essentials of Correctional Nursing textbook. She has been on the CCHP board, in the CCHP-RN task group, and served as chairperson for the Academy of Correctional Professionals. Mrs. Laffan was appointed to the NCCHC education committee and the CCHP-RN committee in 2023. Susan received the Margart Collatt award, and the NJ State Nurses Association Forum for Correctional Nursing award and won the Edward Harrison Excellence in Correctional Health Care Leadership Award November 2025.
