Mrs. Susan Laffan is a correctional nursing leader, educator, and author with more than 35 years of experience in emergency, critical care, and correctional nursing. A longtime NCCHC presenter, she has authored more than 40 publications and contributed to the Essentials of Correctional Nursing textbook. Mrs. Laffan has served in numerous leadership roles within NCCHC, including the CCHP program and Academy of Correctional Professionals. She is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including NCCHC’s Edward A. Harrison Award of Excellence in Correctional Health Care Leadership. Her professional interests include nursing education, certification, and advancing correctional nursing practice.
