This presentation addresses complexities in assessing skin of patients with dark complexions, to include pressure injuries, bruising, hypoxia, and melanoma. It will discuss the impact of pigmentation on detection accuracy, effective assessment methods, cultural competence, tailored assessment techniques, and appropriate interventions.
